Can Light Therapy Improve Eyesight?

Let’s talk about the eyes, the “windows to our soul”. You also want to be able to look out of those windows and see what’s going on outside!

The eyes are fragile and complex and can deteriorate through injury, ageing or lifestyle factors. The mere thought of losing eyesight fills people with dread.

When you were young, you might remember when your parent got their glasses. And grandparents? – Well, I can’t remember mine without glasses.

For a long time, it seemed inevitable that our sight would get worse as we age. However, there is now evidence that we can slow and even reverse some of that decline using Light Therapy.

Light Therapy has been shown to have therapeutic benefits for the eyes, including improving visual acuity and reducing symptoms of various eye conditions.

One way Light Therapy can help improve eyesight is by increasing blood flow to the eyes. This delivers oxygen and nutrients to the retina and other parts of the eye. This, in turn, helps reduce inflammation and promotes the healing of damaged cells in the eye, leading to improved eyesight

Light Therapy has also been shown to promote the growth of new blood vessels in the retina. This can help to reduce the risk of retinal damage from conditions like Age-Related Macular Degeneration.

In addition to these benefits, Light Therapy has also been shown to improve the health of the photoreceptor cells in the retina, which are responsible for converting light into electrical signals that are transmitted to the brain and processed into images. By stimulating these cells and promoting their health and function, Light Therapy may help improve vision and reduce symptoms of conditions like Retinitis Pigmentosa.

A recent study found that a daily three-minute exposure to deep red light switched on the energy-producing mitochondria cells in the human retina, helping boost naturally declining vision.

Whether you have a diagnosed eye condition or are starting to notice your sight deteriorating, I can help you find the right equipment and teach you the protocols required to help you improve your sight.

It is incredibly empowering to have the tools and to be able to heal yourself and your loved ones!

No matter where in the world you are – you can contact me to arrange a short online zoom session to see how Light Therapy can help you improve your eyesight.
